Sir Lancelot, a divine quest, a murderous bunny, a melodramatic woman, a pair of coconuts—oh and of course death, make up the hilarious musical of Eric Idle’s Spamalot. Based on the hit movie Monty Python and the Holy Grail, this musical is “fun, funny, and fantastic” in the words of Iain Leggat ’16, playing King Arthur.
The cast has several old faces, and a few new ones. Graham Goldstein ’16 “didn’t want to leave [Woodberry] with any regrets,” so he decided to audition for the winter musical, making his debut on the Woodberry stage and landing a main role of Lancelot. For him, performing has “most certainly been worth it,” and he regrets “that he hadn’t tried out for a school play here at the Forest earlier.”

David Willis ‘16 explains the challenges presented by “taking a piece that is already present in the community’s consciousness.” “Everyone” he says, “will know the punch lines before the curtain rises,” so their task as actors is to “do it justice.”
A whirlwind of music, dancing, and singing, Spamalot is a must-see for the Woodberry community.
